Brighter Days Festival 2018 Wrap-Up
That’s a wrap!! Brighter Days Festival 2018 is done!
What a fantastic weekend we all had, just look at the photos that are on the updated FB pages and you will see what you missed or what you were a part of.
The weather was kind, along with all our Brighter Days friends and supporters.
We had a bumper result from the weekends festivities, which put the Brighter Days Foundation in a fantastic position to support our chosen charities by donating $400,000 – an amazing result and one we are very proud of.
- DEBRA Australia $150,000
- Cooper Trewin Memorial Foundation SUDC $150,000
- EB Research Australia $90,000
- 4 Kids and Carers Future Foundation $10,000
Thanks to all who attended over the weekend, all our General and Band Sponsors, The Raffle Sponsors - Harley Davidson Australia, Northside Harley, Kincrome, Bayford Motors, Mustang Motorsport, the greater Bright community, the Alpine shire, Heavy Duty Magazine and all our trusty Volunteers, all 168 of them.

This event just does not pop up and happen on its own, we, the committee of the Brighter Days Foundation, are a group of 19 that meet regularly throughout the year to put in place an event that will be Free, Fun and Full of Enjoyment. Not to mention the other interstate or country events that we travel to so we can sell our Raffle tickets across the country side.
Along with this our extended Brighter days family help with selling raffle tickets through their own network and the massive show of hands to help throughout the weekend event itself.
There is also an enormous effort that comes from within the local Bright community. In Bright we are supported by locals who just keep going, whenever we ask for something, it is never a problem, they all have that “can do” attitude that we in the city, always admire. Whether it be standing at a gate, moving merchandise, helping with the setting up of the stage or back of house, nothing is ever a problem. Local trades are always around to put in an extra light or help with supply of something that we forgot to bring up.
Alongside the local volunteers we are supported by The Alpine Shire who help with infrastructure, rubbish control, ensuring the permanent facilities of the community are still available to our attendees and the public that are in the town on the same weekend.
There are people that deliver our gear and equipment to Bright then come back again 4 days later to take it all back to Melbourne, there are others that loan us their fork lifts, their trucks, toilets and generators and many suppliers that give us discounts on their equipment.
So, on behalf of my committee friends, I would like to pass on our sincere thanks to all who have helped the Brighter Days Foundation who without, this event would not happen or flourish as it has.
We all look forward to next year, keep your eyes out for the new Raffle, surprisingly it is bigger and better than last year, tickets on sale soon.
Thanks again,
Cheers,
Paul
